Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Trinamool Congress (TMC) National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee has assured the public that his party will ensure free and fair elections, despite any potential violence or chaos.
Speaking to reports yesterday, Banerjee emphasized that the TMC is committed to upholding the democratic process and will give tickets to candidates who are deemed suitable by the common public.
"We will not allow any violence or chaos to disrupt the electoral process. The people of this country deserve fair and transparent elections, and that is what we will deliver," Banerjee said. "We are committed to giving tickets to the candidates who are most deserving, and who are seen as suitable by the common public."
The voting deadline has been set for 6:45 pm today
